December Pictures - Before Christmas

So, now that's January, I thought I'd post our pictures from December. ha. They are actually in order from latest to earliest.

My brother, my nephews, and me

Our anniversary picture - Do we look like we've been married 9 years?

I spent a fun weekend with my momma. This pic was taken before her Sunday School party.

Busy Day!

First up was Bubba's last soccer game of the season. It was very windy and cold!

(Don't worry...he's getting a haircut Tuesday!)

Bubba scored a goal!

Lo loves to play soccer too!

After the game, Bubba, Lo, and Corey went to Pizza Hut for the soccer party. (I"ll have to post a picture of Bub with his big trophy later.) I had to skip the pizza so I could get ready for Jen's baby shower. The shower was lots of fun, and Jen got some great stuff! It was the first time I'd seen Jen since she really started showing, but surprisingly, I did not cry or constantly touch her belly! lol

Obviously, I have on tall shoes and she doesn't!

Doesn't Jen look great??!! (Oh, and that cheesecake was every bit as good it looks! lol)

After playing with Lo for most of the day and evening, Bubba decided to make a little clubhouse in the corner of the living room. He decided to sleep there....

Happy Halloween!

Just a few pictures from Halloween. As you'll see, I did not get many pictures of the kids in their costumes. Bubba was Spiderman (black Spidey for trick-or-treating, good Spidey for school), Lo was a ladybug, and Phin was a bee. Phin got lots of attention, Bubba got lots of candy, and Lo lost a shoe!

The picture below was supposed to be cute pic of me and Lo, but when I pulled it up on the computer, I saw that I had food in my teeth. (We'd just finished eating.) So, I cut myself out.

Recent Pictures

Bubba's first soccer game. He's #8.

The quality of these next pics are not that great, but they are too cute not to share!

Lo enjoyed some ice cream with her Granny.

How precious is this?!

Give me ICE CREAM!!!!!

Bubba enjoyed his ice cream too!

Meet the new member of the family!

My beautiful new nephew was born Thursday, October 2nd at 7.55 a.m. He was 7 lbs, 9 oz. We spent about 2 hours with him the day he was born, and as soon as we left, Bubba was asking if we could go back. (Of course, I was wanting to go back just as much!)

And I have to show a picture of my other beautiful (well, I'll say handsome since he's not a baby) nephew!

A Special Message for the Grandparents

Baby Shower

I went to a shower for Brooke and my nephew-on-the-way tonight.

Here's a pic of me and Brooke:

And here's the cake:

Btw, did you know that blue icing turns your poop green??? Not that I know from experience...yet.

August Wrap Up

Sorry I haven't posted any pictures since the beginning of August. Now that school and soccer have started, I don't have much "free" time.

Bubba is enjoying school, and, of course, he's already getting in trouble for talking. He's reading on a second grade level, so he's discovering chapter books. At home, he's got chores for which he earns allowance. We based our system on Simple Mom's system. (Read about it here and here.) Bubba actually comes home ready to chores now!! He also even goes in the backyard by himself sometimes!

Lo is back at her Aunt Brooke's house and has started rubbing on her belly the way Brooke rubs on her pregnant belly. She is definitely a little princess! I bought her a shirt yesterday that says "I have my daddy wrapped around my finger." Boy, is that the truth! This morning, she would demand milk by saying "Momma!" and Corey would hold her cup for her so she could have a drink. She can say "milk" and "Daddy," so she was just demonstrating her control. ha!

Phin continues to grow. Our "dachshund" is now about 40 lbs! Punkin has adjusted to him for the most part, and she's now requesting a little more lovin' from us. She even sat in my lap for about 10 minutes the other day!!

I know you're wanting pictures, so here they are!

Lo thought the cheerio-on-the-head was hilarious!

She fell asleep one afternoon while she was playing.

Corey made spaghetti (!) one night while I was gone. Looks like Lo enjoyed it!

Bubba was just scribbling at first, but he saw a dinosaur in the scribble and finished it out. He's artistic like his Daddy! (I have resigned myself to the fact that he is always going to have something on his face in his pictures. sigh.)

Bubba's teaching Lo how to brush her own teeth.

I think she's saying, "Take the dang picture and then leave me alone!"

They rarely get on the bed at the same time, but Corey forced this time.

Graduation Day!

Phineas is a now an official Puppy Training Graduate!

I want to put him in the Intermediate class, but I think I'm going to work a little longer on the commands we learned during puppy training. He will sit without a treat, but we still have to work on stay. He also HATES to ride in the car, and I am just not ready to go through trying to get him out of the store and into the car again! Although, the bigger he gets, the harder it will be to carry him out of the store in my arms! (He's 30 lbs already...imagine walking through Petsmart carrying a 30 lb dog!)

Punkin's Trick

For some reason, Punkin likes to climb onto my back when I come in the kitchen door. She hasn't done it in a while, but last night, she was determined to get out of Corey's arms and climb onto my back. Once she got there, she stretched out and settled in.

I can usually get her off by getting on my bed, but the camera spooked her, I guess, and she dug her back claws in. Ouch! Corey had to pry her off of me!

Bumgenius Giveaway!

One of my favorite blogs, Baby Cheapskate, is hosting a Cloth Diaper Week and will giving away 12 Bumgenius diapers! You can enter the giveaway here.

We started using cloth a year ago, an we all - Corey included - love them. Bumgenius is one of our favorites. They run about $17-19 dollars and can be used for babies 7 lb - 35lbs! We do not have the new version 3.0, but we are very interested in trying them.
Here's a pic of Logan wearing a cloth diaper for the very first time.

July 19

I know it's been a while since I posted anything. The kids spent a week at the grandparents', and I went to Nashville for a conference. Since we got back, we've just been busy doing nothing!

Tonight, N and Corey went camping in the backyard. It was really a modified camping trip - Corey made hotdogs on the grill, but they ate inside. We ate microwave-made s'mores before they headed outside to tell scary stories and go to sleep.

Lo and I just hung out in the house before she crashed. You can tell she has sleepy eyes in this pic:

I hope you are enjoying your summer!

Jen is having TWINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How awesome are those sweet babies?!!

Yesterday I was too excited to do anything but grin and ramble, and it looks like today is about the same. I have to say that I have known it was twins all along. lol Every time we emailed about her being pg, I would always type "babies" automatically. I'm not going to make a definite guess about the genders, but I think that it was no accident that I saw a set of twin dolls - one girl and one boy - yesterday on clearance in Target. I offered to buy them for her so they could practice. She's going to laugh when they show up on her doorstep!

I know a lot of you have been thinking about Jen and Joel and praying for them, even though you don't know them. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. They are awesome people and will make even more awesome parents.

If you're interested in her story and experience with IVF...and her experience with being pg with TWINS, you can read her blog.

Our Fourth of July

Last night we went to the Northpark Mall Balloon Glow so we could see Chris Young and fireworks. I went for Chris Young; Corey and N went for fireworks...Lo went because we did.

(If you don't know Chris Young, check out his myspace page. He won Nashville Star three years ago. I LOVED him.)

The performance stage was on a hill, so it really wasn't feasible for all four of us to go up there when Chris came on. N didn't want to go, so I went by myself. Here's how far away they were from the stage:

Since there weren't many people at the stage, I was able to get a great view! If there'd been rows, I'd have been 3rd row center. Of course, Chris did a WONDERFUL job!

Afterwards, Chris went along the fence to sign autographs and take pictures. I was afraid he wouldn't do that since he'd had a fan club meet 'n' greet already. My camera barely had batteries, but I was able to get a picture with him! He put his arm around me, and I put mine around him. After the picture was taken, he kinda squeeze-pinched my arm as he pulled his arm back. When I said thank you, he looked me in the eyes and said, "No, thank you." It was great! He really knows how to get to his female fans!!
Of course, I look HORRIBLE in the picture. I'll save the whole description of how bad I look , but this haircut is horrible. I call it a mom-cut. And I should really change the title of this blog to "Tales from Momma Whale." Anyway, here's the picture, and I promise that it's me!
Lo did great being out all that time, and she and N really enjoyed the fireworks. I wish I had some pictures of them, but I used all the batteries on Chris. oops.
